We are looking for a new team member as a temporary Animal Logistics Driver on a 1 year full-time contract.

You will be working as part of the Animal Logistics team reporting into the Animal Logistics Manager. 

  • Working hours: 35 hours / Mon - Friday between 09:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs. (These hours may vary depending on demand)
  • Field-based: This is a field-based, driving position and you will be provided with a fleet van, which you would be responsible for parking in a safe space overnight. You would also be responsible for biosecurity of the van at the end of each working day.
  • Primary Location: Your primary location would be based in Lincolnshire and potentially surrounding areas. The ideal individual would be located in Lincoln.

There will be a one stage interview process for this role which will involve; 

  • A virtual competency based interview with two panel members.

What a day might look like for you

Here at RSPCA we know it's a cliche but no two days are the same, especially as an Animal Logistics Driver. Here's a short summary of what a typical day might look like for a full insight please refer to the attached job description.

Do you love animals, and enjoy driving? Why not combine the two by transporting animals to private boarding establishments, RSPCA Branches, Hospitals and private veterinary surgeries as required? With this role, you will be responsible for completing the journeys allocated by the Animal Logistics Coordinators.

You will need to be comfortable handling animals - don't worry we do provide full training!

Some days you may have to work later than usual to ensure our animals get to where they need to be, and some days you may have to start a little earlier so flexibility is key. Equally, some days can be shorter too.

What you'll bring:
  • Good communication skills (oral and written).
  • Good administrative skills and IT literate.
  • A good communicator with strong customer care skills.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organise workload.
  • Problem solving skills.

Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
