We are looking for a talented and proactive Digital Product Owner to lead our Prevention and Education team's digital presence on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.

In this pivotal role, you will be the driving force behind our online educational efforts, managing and evolving all aspects of our digital portfolio.

You will act as the product owner for our digital estate, becoming the go to expert for our CMS and guiding our content strategy.

Contract: 12 month fixed term contract.

Hours: 35 hours per week.

Location: Home based.

Salary: £35,984 - 42,334 per annum.

What a day might look like for you

As our Digital Product Owner you will oversee our website, from engaging with external stakeholders to research and write engaging copy, to editing and approving content and producing compelling digital assets and webpages.

You will investigate and resolve any technical issues to ensure a seamless user experience, liaising closely with our Digital and IT teams.

A key element of the role will be to ensure all digital content aligns with our brand guidelines, maintains our messaging, branding and reputation. You will advise contributors on best practices for SEO, CRO, accessibility and usability.

We will look to you to dive into website metrics and Google Ads data; using insights to optimise content, identify areas for improvement and inform task prioritisation and then present these insights to stakeholders.

You will set the product vision and roadmap for our digital estate; advising on how to improve user journeys and exploring new technologies and trends and will conduct user acceptance testing for new website projects to ensure flawless functionality before launch.

As Digital Product Owner, you will create and commission innovative digital assets to promote animal welfare messages and boost online engagement and will collaborate with our Brand and Marketing team to develop web content that supports key campaigns and activities.

You will collaborate across departments and will also work with external partners, such as digital agencies and our Partnerships department.

What you'll bring:

To succeed within this fixed term contract role, you will need to be a passionate advocate for animal welfare, with a strategic mindset and a proven track record in digital product management.

You must also have:

  • Proven experience of working within a product centric organisation, with a clear understanding of the full product lifecycle from vision to delivery.
  • Proven experience of engaging with external stakeholders to research and create engaging content to suit that specific audience.
  • Proven skills and experience in content management or the development of online learning resources.
  • Confidence in using web-based applications for collaborative remote working (e.g., Google Workspace: Forms, Sheets, Docs, Meet, Hangout, or equivalent).
  • Practical experience in creating and delivering engaging learning sessions and materials.
  • A proven ability to deliver value for money; prioritising deliverables, making minimum viable product (MVP) decisions and managing budgets within digital delivery projects.
  • The ability to negotiate complex challenges and prioritise competing demands effectively.
  • Proven written communication skills, including meticulous proofreading, editing, an excellent grasp of grammar, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to work diplomatically and persuasively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Proven organisational skills, with a strong understanding of both producer and project manager roles, and the ability to seamlessly transition between them when required.
  • A proven ability to work effectively under pressure while successfully juggling a diverse range of activities and projects.

Along with this, prior experience in an academic or educational setting would be an advantage, as would experience of interpreting web metrics and analytics to inform strategic direction and continuously improve performance.

If you are a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail, a passion for digital and a desire to make a difference in animal welfare, we would love to hear from you!
