Finance Officer (2014)

We are looking for a new team member as a Finance Officer where you will work closely with the Financial Operations team to ensure effective, efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions including income and expenses.
- Working hours: 35 hours / Monday to Friday.
- Hybrid role: your base will be at Horsham, West Sussex. With up to 3 days per week onsite. Applicants must be within a 1 hour distance from our Horsham hub.

As a Finance Officer, you will be responsible for responding to queries and supporting internal customers at all levels on financial systems and processes where appropriate, such as responding to external stakeholder and customer queries.
You will also be responsible for ensuring there is a clear record of financial transactions (income and expenditure) in accordance with organisational and tax authority requirements.
Your day would include the following:
- Checking and verifying bank transactions.
- Preparing ledger balances, control accounts and statements, reconciling statements, accounts and related transactions using the Sage accounting system.
- Identifying, correcting or referring to any errors or accounting discrepancies.
- Processing staff expense and credit card expenditure, validating spend against policies.
- Support with any ad hoc projects.
- Reconciliation of periodic statements, accounts and related transactions.
The ideal Finance Officer would bring a good understanding of cashier and treasury experience and be able to work in an operational Finance Department.
- Computer processing skills.
- Recent working experience in an operational financial function.
- Experience of working in a transaction processing function
- Experience of customer service..
- Organised with the ability to multi task across several work streams simultaneously
- Knowledge of Inter-company transactions
Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
