We are looking for a new team member as a Finance Officer, you will be working as part of the Finance team reporting into the Finance Operations Lead
Working hours: 30 hours / Mon - Friday.
Hybrid role: Your base will be at Horsham West Sussex. Hybrid working isn't a tick exercise for us - we live the values, expectation for this role will be up to 2 days per week in the office, and this is open to be flexible around you and the operation
Please note that applicants must be within a 1 hour commute to our Horsham office.

Your role as a Finance Officer would be to ensure effective, efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions.
- Raising and receipting purchase orders.
- Processing purchase invoices, credit notes, sales orders and invoices.
- Applying payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Periodic payment of suppliers.
- Ensuring there is a clear record of financial transactions (income and expenditure) in accordance with organisational and tax authority requirements.
- Responding to queries from internal customers, expediting delivery of ordered goods and services and supporting internal customers on financial systems and processes; responding to external stakeholder and customer queries.
- Checking and verifying bank transactions.
- Preparing ledger balances, control accounts and statements, reconciling statements, accounts and related transactions.
- Identifying and correcting or referring any errors or accounting discrepancies.
- Providing cost and revenue information in the required formats to the relevant people. Compiling data and reporting information about income and expenditure to support decision making and management planning.
- Support with any ad hoc projects.
The successful candidate has demonstrable experience of the following areas:
- Strong customer service
- Great communication skills - building positive relationships
- Highly motivated you thrive in a remote work environment but also enjoy connecting with your team virtually
- Organised with the ability to multi task across several work streams simultaneously
- Happy and comfortable to work in a dog friendly office
- Computer processing skills.
- Recent working experience in a financial function.
- Experience of working in a transaction processing function
- Experience of customer service.
Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
