We are looking for a new Fundraising Compliance Auditor to join us on a full time, 12 month maternity cover. 

Working hours: 35 hours / Mon - Friday

The role will be hybrid but predominantly home based with occasional travel to our South East Regional Hub in Horsham, West Sussex when needed.

What a day might look like for you

You will work closely with the Fundraising Compliance Manager to create an audit process that includes internal fundraising teams and supporting third parties. It will be your responsibility to share this message across our Society to embed an understanding of the role of audit within the fundraising compliance framework. 

Taking charge of leading internal audits and compliance checks across different areas, making sure everything runs smoothly. You will visit third parties to carry out audits and work with fundraising agencies to ensure they meet expectations through shadowing and mystery shopping. 

Keeping an eye on changing regulations and advising on necessary updates to keep audit processes strong. While creating clear, actionable reports on audit findings and working with wider teams to ensure consistency. Building relationships with stakeholders to support fundraising and awareness efforts while offering guidance and support across the organisation.

What you'll bring:
  • Experience of implementing Performance, Compliance and Regulatory auditing 
  • Proven experience of incident management and escalation
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of the UK's current data protection legislation, general governance and risk management, ideally in a charity setting
  • Ability to deliver and manage outcomes of audits
  • Experience within a compliance environment delivering best practice and evidencing regulatory compliance
  • Innovative thinking- with high attention to detail you are adept at researching,  analysing and using your judgment to resolve situations
  • A track record of developing and implementing continuous improvement in service delivery and improved outcomes in customer services
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal formats - to produce clear, concise and factual reports. Be expert at taking complex information and translating information to a variety of audiences 
  • In addition you will be confident to manage quality conversations and hold 3rd parties stakeholders accountable for actions
  • A strong collaborator - a natural people person you have the ability to engage with colleagues/stakeholders at all levels

Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
