We are looking for a new team member to join us as an Events Manager – Fundraising within our Events / Engagement & Income Generation team.
Working hours: 35 hours / Monday – Friday
Location: Horsham, West Sussex or London
Hybrid role: Flexibility around you and the needs of the operation.

We're looking for an experienced and creative Events Manager – Fundraising to lead the development and delivery of a portfolio of fundraising and engagement events that generate income, grow our supporter base and help more people connect with the RSPCA and our work.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strong event management and project management skills with commercial awareness,stewardship, creativity and a genuine passion for making a difference.
You'll take responsibility for developing and delivering effective fundraising events, from initial ideas and feasibility through to planning, marketing, delivery and evaluation. You'll manage budgets, income targets, suppliers and risk, while ensuring our supporters and volunteers receive an excellent experience throughout their journey with us.
You'll also lead and develop a small team, working collaboratively with colleagues across fundraising, marketing, digital, data and insight, as well as RSPCA branches, animal centres and community groups.

Here at the RSPCA, no two days are the same. As an Events Manager – Fundraising, you could be developing an exciting new fundraising event one day and reviewing the performance of an existing event the next.
You might start your day reviewing income and expenditure against your event budgets and KPIs, identifying opportunities or putting contingency plans in place to make sure targets stay on track. You could then meet with colleagues in marketing, digital or data and insight to develop a campaign to increase event participation, or work with an external supplier to finalise plans for an upcoming event.
You'll spend time building relationships with RSPCA branches, animal centres, community groups and other teams across the organisation, ensuring everyone has what they need to deliver successful events.
You'll also oversee event management plans, including risk assessments, health and safety, contingency and major incident planning, while ensuring our activity meets relevant legislation and fundraising standards & importantly, you'll support and develop your team, helping them to deliver great experiences for our supporters and volunteers while achieving ambitious fundraising results.

We're looking for someone with recent and relevant experience in fundraising events, challenge or activity event promotion, charity events, sales or marketing.
You'll bring:
- A proven track record of planning and managing successful and profitable fundraising events
- Experience developing and implementing event strategies that grow income and supporter engagement
- Strong project management, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience managing external suppliers, agencies and contractors, including negotiating and managing contracts and service level agreements
- Experience working collaboratively across teams and with external partners, branches, community groups or similar networks
- Experience of using online fundraising and donation platforms such as JustGiving
- The confidence to present, facilitate workshops and deliver training or guidance to others
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- A methodical approach, with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
