Receptionist (3067)
We're on the lookout for a passionate Receptionist to join our dedicated team at the RSPCA East Winch Animal Centre.
As our Receptionist, who will admit and initially triage wildlife, are the first friendly face a nervous rescue animal sees when their journey begins. It is a fast paced, emotionally rewarding environment where no two days are the same. We trust our colleagues to take ownership of their roles, providing a supportive environment where your initiative and independent judgments are crucial.
You will work four days a week, 9am to 6pm every Sunday to Wednesday.

- Application
You'll be asked a few targeted questions designed to help us understand your experience, unique skills, and future potential. This is your first chance to stand out!
- Panel Interview & Site Visit - Interviews will take place in April
If your application hits the mark, we'll invite you to meet us in person. You'll sit down with the Hiring Manager and another member of the team for a competency based interview and a tour of the site. We'll also be asking some scenario based questions on animal handling and would welcome your thoughts and discussion on the content. This stage is designed for you to:

- Demonstrate Your Strengths: Show us how you work in a supportive, relaxed environment.

- You'll greet visitors, handle incoming calls, and manage the reception area, ensuring everyone is assisted promptly and efficiently.
- You'll provide the public with clear, professional information regarding animal welfare and advice on wildlife.
- You'll handle the vital paperwork behind animal acceptance and maintaining our Animal Welfare Database with precision.
- You'll take ownership of our on site shop ordering stock, pricing items, and reconciling daily takings to help raise funds for our animals.
- You'll book veterinary transfers, and arrange animal transport.
- You'll ensure the reception and public areas are clean, tidy, and inviting for both our human and animal guests.
Essential
- A background in administrative environments and significant experience dealing with the general public.
- You possess advanced customer care skills and the ability to provide informative, caring service to a diverse range of clients.
- You are proficient in IT and can accurately manage digital filing and retrieval systems.
- You are a positive, flexible team player who can work with minimal supervision and prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
Desirable:
- Experience using spreadsheets
- Animal care experience
- UK Driving licence
Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
