We are looking for a new team member as Regional Pet Food Bank Coordinator to join us on a 10 month fixed term contract.
- Working hours: 35 hours / Mon - Friday.
- 10 month FTC
- Working in partnership with charities, groups and organisations in the heart of our communities
- Providing vital early help & support during difficult times, keeping pets and their owners together
- Hybrid role: Your base will be at Home with regular travel across the designated region (Midlands) visiting our community partners, store points, centres, hubs and undertaking face to face events in the heart of communities. Hybrid working isn't a tick exercise for us - we live the values, expectation for this role will be 5 days per week and this is open to flex around you and the operation

Here at RSPCA no two days are the same, within the Pet Food Bank Team. We've added a short summary of what a typical day might look like, for a full insight please refer to the attached job description.
The main focus of the team is to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with Food Banks , community support partners and other key organisations to ensure early help and support is available to families in need across England and Wales. This support includes essential pet provisions, as well as face to face pet welfare advice and guidance.
The position is full time working a 35 hour week Monday to Friday office hours, working from home but there will be a need for regular travel across the designated region as part of your work visiting partners, storage sites and holding community events.
What's involved?
- Being the main contact, and responsible for a designated region (MIDLANDS)
- Assess and address emerging risks within a challenging socio-economic environment.
- Develop and maintain internal relationships with RSPCA branches, teams, and volunteers at the regional level.
- Manage welfare assistance schemes, including vet vouchers, neutering, microchipping, preventative treatments, and pet advice.
- Collaborate with food bank partners to target welfare assistance and provide essential support, advice, and information.
- Create, maintain, and share resources for RSPCA and community colleagues to access support and information.
- Plan and execute community support events with food bank partners to offer neutering, microchipping, preventative treatments, and pet advice.
- Manage and coordinate pet food stock across the region
- Collect and maintain monthly data and contribute to impact reports, including regional needs.
You will be the spokesperson for the project to promote our work via multiple media channels including radio, social media, and TV.
As coordinator for the Midlands, the successful candidates will need to be located within their regional area.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A confident driver with the ability to drive regularly across the region and drive larger vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes such as our mobile clinic.
- Flexible and adaptable, with problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in community engagement and working with the public - a strong people person
- Experience in building relationships and partnerships.
- Solid administrative and IT skills
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Five GCSEs at grades A-C or equivalent.
- Animal care/welfare knowledge, experience, or understanding.
