A little about us

Do you want to help create a better world for animals? At the RSPCA, we believe animal welfare is everyone's welfare. Join us in creating a better world for every animal. We can do it if we work together, everyone for every animal.

Choose a career with us and make a difference.

We're looking for a Reward & Benefits Advisor to join our People & Culture team. This is a key role that supports how we recognise, reward and care for our colleagues across the Society.

You'll bring specialist knowledge of employee benefits and pensions, alongside a practical, people-focused approach. You'll work closely with the Head of Reward, Finance colleagues, and external partners to ensure our benefits offering is competitive, compliant and meaningful.

This is an opportunity to shape and influence our reward agenda - not just maintain it.

  • Working hours: 35 hours - Monday- Friday.
  • This is a hybrid role, based at either our London (Blackfriars) or Horsham office. We ask for around one day per month in the office, with flexibility around you and the needs of the role.

Are you ready to join our movement?

Our recruitment journey - key dates for you to note:

Here's what the process looks like, no surprises, just a friendly guide:

  1. Application
You'll be asked to answer a few questions to give us a sense of your experience, skills, and potential.
  2. Panel Interview
If your application is successful, you'll be invited to a panel interview with the Hiring Manager and the Senior Reward Specialist,  This is a chance to:
  • Share more about what you've done and what you're proud of
  • Ask questions about the role, team, and impact you could make
  • Show off your skills and behaviours in a relaxed, supportive setting
  • If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, just let us know - we're happy to support you.

We think this role is going to be popular, so early applications are advised. The closing date is currently the 11th of March.

What a day might look like for you

This is a valuable role in the Society and you will bring essential knowledge and experience of implementing benefits programs, pension schemes and wellbeing initiatives across the reward agenda.

For the full details, please refer to the job description. In summary, you will:

  • Lead annual benefits renewals, managing supplier relationships and ensuring value for money
  • Oversee insurance renewals, working closely with Finance and external providers
  • Support pension-related projects in partnership with the Head of Reward
  • Work with the Reward & Benefits Analyst on Gender Pay Gap reporting, helping shape a clear and meaningful narrative aligned to our People & Culture strategy
  • Improve how we communicate reward and benefits across the Society so colleagues understand and value what's available to them
  • Monitor market trends and make thoughtful recommendations to keep our offering competitive and aligned to our culture

This is a role where your expertise will directly influence the colleague's experience.

Does this sound like you?

What will help you succeed in this role:

We know no one meets every requirement perfectly. If you have most of the experience below and are excited about the role, we encourage you to apply.

You'll bring:

  • Specialist experience in employee core, flexible and voluntary benefits
  • Experience working with third-party insurance brokers and pension trustees
  • Strong knowledge of benefits in kind and statutory obligations relating to pay and benefits
  • Confidence responding to colleague queries and knowing when and where to seek additional guidance
  • Comfort working with data and using insights to support decision-making
  • Curiosity and a desire to improve how reward and benefits work in practice

Most importantly, you'll care deeply about delivering a fair, effective and sustainable reward approach that supports our people.

Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK - We are unable to sponsor visas at RSPCA

Final note from us & good luck with your application!

We want to ensure we do all we can to give you a positive candidate experience through our recruitment. Whilst we do try to give feedback where we can, sometimes due to receiving high levels of applications, this may not always be possible

We are building the future of a diverse Society, and our priority is to support animal welfare by finding people from all backgrounds who are committed  to our mission.  For this reason we actively encourage a wide diversity of applications - in particular from members of minority ethnic groups, and people with disabilities - as these candidates are currently under-represented at the RSPCA. Your transferable skills & lived experiences could make you a valuable addition to our RSPCA Family!

We're here to support you and encourage you to let us know if you need any adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process. Please feel free to contact us at resourcingteam@rspca.org.uk or 0300 123 0685 so we can ensure the process works for you.
