We are looking for a new team member as Senior Finance Business Partner.

  • Working hours: 35 hours / Mon - Friday. 
  • Hybrid role: Your base will be at Horsham or London depending on your location. Remote work is also available with Semi regular travel to meet stakeholders depending on requirements.

What a day might look like for you

Here at RSPCA no two days are the same, as a Senior Finance Business Partner we've added a short summary of what a typical day might look like, for a full insight please refer to the attached job description.

As a Senior Finance Business Partners, you will be working within Directorate Senior Leadership Teams (SLTs) as an expert strategic finance advisor, helping to ensure financial plans are aligned to the RSPCA's strategy and risk appetite. You will act as an advocate for good financial governance, data-informed decision making, and continuous learning, as well as for the wider Finance function and its activities. SFBPs hold a high degree of influence over the Society's finances, supporting and challenging SLTs during annual budgeting and planning, forecasting, and business case creation and review processes. 

You will be responsible for the following - 

  • Supporting and challenging leadership teams during the budgeting, planning, and associated processes, ensuring plans are sustainable and in line with RSPCA resources and strategic outlook
  • Coaching and educating senior leaders in understanding their roles, accountabilities, and responsibilities with regards managing finances and budgets
  • Supporting the development of directorate and organisational strategies, in particular assessing financial viability, risks, and sustainability
  • Developing and enhancing finance business partnering across the organisation
What you'll bring:
    • Commitment to fostering positive, supportive relationships with stakeholders, increasing influence through trust and expertise
    • Strategic mindset focused on the ‘So What' and ‘What Next' of financial data and analysis
    • Excellent Customer Service skills and relationship management. 
    • Able to effectively communicate in a clear, precise, and accessible way that is based on audience needs
    • Collaborative approach to working with financial and non-financial stakeholders 
    • Excellent understanding of management accounting, budget setting, financial reporting and forecasting
    • High level of commercial acumen and the ability to educate and enable the business to understand their financial performance and responsibilities

     The post holder will need to have a strategic mindset, working closely with Directors and ADs to ensure that financial plans align directorate resources with operational goals as well as the Society's strategy and risk appetite. The scenarios that the post holder will encounter will require innovative thinking and analysis to evaluate the situation fully and establish the right solution.  There are high levels of judgement, operational discretion and risk analysis needed.  

Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
