We're looking for a Veterinary Nurse to join the team at our Blackberry Farm Animal Centre, reporting to our Animal Centre Manager.
- Permanent contract for 1 day per week - 0830 - 1630
- Working hours: 7 hours worked every Monday.
- Our RSPCA Blackberry Farm Animal Centre occupies a 10-acre site overlooking the rural villages of Waddesdon and Quainton in Buckinghamshire. We are just two minutes from the A41 between Aylesbury and Bicester.
Our Veterinary Nurses are integral to the smooth running of the busy centre. The successful candidate will carry out nursing duties for a unique variety of animal welfare cases and species, including cats, dogs and exotics.
The centre works directly to help animals most in need by supporting the work of the RSPCA's Inspectors, animal centres and branches, providing essential veterinary care around the clock.

- Provide direct medical and surgical patient care;
- Maintain up to date and accurate clinical records;
- Dispense drugs in accordance with professional guidelines and clinic rules;
- Maintaining a high level of clinical hygiene and biosecurity;
- Anaesthetic monitoring, perioperative nursing care and theatre practice;
- The opportunity to part in community engagement initiatives;
- Undertaking continuing professional and personal development associated with the role.
- Providing smooth handovers.
Please only apply for this role if you are a fully qualified Vet Nurse with a current registration with the RCVS, along with proven previous experience of working in a relevant discipline, for example within a veterinary practice, wildlife rehabilitation centre, animal centre or similar.
Ideally all applicants must be able to start by the 1st of August 2025 and must be able to work on a Monday.
Our Veterinary Nurses must also be able to demonstrate that they:
- Have strong communication skills;
- Able to structure your own day and workload
- Are confident in monitoring anesthetic procedures.
- Have experience in working with animals who are nervous.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Are able to assess and make evidenced based clinical decisions;
- Are able and willing to work autonomously and be an excellent team player;
- Have strong prioritisation skills and are highly organised;
- Are a strong problem solver, with a proven ability to use their initiative.
Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles may need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Interviews will be held on the 17th and the 18th of July at Blackberry Farm.
