A bit about us

2024 marks an important milestone for us as we celebrate our 200th anniversary! We are proud of our longstanding history campaigning for animal welfare. We pioneered the first law protecting animals and have worked tirelessly since to ensure all animals can live free from suffering. Through our awareness campaigns, we raise care standards and shine a light on issues impacting animals today. Our vision is a world where animals are respected and treated with compassion—the goal we work toward every day.

We are looking for a new team member as a Senior Research Executive.  You will be working as part of the Strategic Support team on a permanent basis.

  • Working hours: 35 hours / Mon - Friday.
  • Hybrid role: Your base will be at Horsham West Sussex. Hybrid working isn't a tick exercise for us - we live the values. The expectation for this role will be 1 day per month in the Horsham or London office, but this is open to flex around you and the team's requirements.

It's important to us that you feel part of our team from the start. We like to keep in touch with regular check-ins and team meetings. There's always a teammate around for support or a quick chat.

Are you ready to join our movement?

What a day might look like for you

Here at the RSPCA no two days are the same. As a Senior Research Executive, we've added a short summary of what a typical day might look like. For a full insight please refer to the attached job description.

This new role, reporting to the Research and Audience Manager, involves understanding the needs of the RSPCA's different audiences, from supporters to stakeholders. Confidence in project management, a love for bringing audience insight to life and presentation skills are a must!

For a full insight to what this role entails please see the job description attached below.

Interviews are set to take place Wednesday 2nd October virtually via Google meet.

We are really lucky that some of our roles attract a high level of interest and for this reason we review applications as they are received, unfortunately on some occasions this means roles may close earlier than advertised; so early submissions are highly recommended.  We are unable to accept applications past the close date.

We want to ensure we do all we can to give you a positive candidate experience through our recruitment. Whilst we do try to give feedback where we can, sometimes due to receiving high levels of applications, this may not always be possible

We recognise that a diverse and inclusive workforce is essential to achieving our core mission. For this reason we actively encourage a wide diversity of applications - in particular from members of minority ethnic groups, and people with disabilities - as these candidates are currently under-represented at the RSPCA.

Should you need any support with your application or interview process please contact resourcingteam@rspca.org.uk

Our mission is to ensure animals have a good life by rescuing and caring for those in need, by advocating on behalf of all animals and by inspiring everyone to treat them with compassion and respect
