What a day might look like for you

Here at the RSPCA no two days are the same. As a Senior Finance Process Manager, we've added a short summary of what the role will entail, for a full insight please refer to the attached job description.

This role acts as a catalyst for change within the RSPCA's finance function , helping to modernise and optimise financial operations through process improvement, technology, and systems development. You will work closely with both  Finance and wider business functions to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen financial controls, and deliver sustainable operational improvements.

One day you may be leading the implementation of a new finance workflow or system enhancement within Sage, Halo, or iTrent. Another day you could be partnering with operational teams to redesign end-to-end processes, supporting major projects such as retail stock management, supplier onboarding, expenses transformation, or finance integrations linked to animal welfare systems.

You'll play a key role in ensuring financial processes are efficient, compliant, and fit for purpose, while helping colleagues embrace change and maximise the benefits of new technology. From scoping and process mapping through to testing, training, implementation, and continuous improvement, you'll be at the heart of delivering meaningful change across the organisation.

What will help you succeed in this role:

To excel in this role, you'll bring a strong combination of finance knowledge, process improvement expertise, and systems thinking.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience leading end-to-end finance process improvement and transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of financial operations, controls, governance, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with finance systems and technology solutions, including system implementation, optimisation, and integration projects.
  • The ability to analyse complex processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend practical solutions that balance operational and financial requirements.
  • Experience managing change from initial scoping and stakeholder engagement through to testing, implementation, training, and post-implementation support.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the whole RSPCA, and external stakeholders.  .
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and enthusiasm for leveraging technology to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial and technical concepts for a range of audiences.
  • The confidence to challenge existing ways of working and influence positive change across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping the RSPCA strengthen its financial processes, improve organisational effectiveness, and ultimately support our mission to create a better world for every animal.

Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK as we are unable to sponsor visas.

Final note from us & good luck with your application!

We want to ensure we do all we can to give you a positive candidate experience through our recruitment. Whilst we do try to give feedback where we can, sometimes due to receiving high levels of applications, this may not always be possible

Our vision is a world where all animals are respected and treated with kindness and compassion. Our purpose is to inspire everyone to create a better world for animals. We are building the future of a diverse Society, and our priority is to support animal welfare by finding people from all backgrounds who are committed  to our purpose.  For this reason we actively encourage a wide diversity of applications - in particular from members of minority ethnic groups, and people with disabilities - as these candidates are currently under-represented at the RSPCA. Your transferable skills & lived experiences could make you a valuable addition to our RSPCA Family!

We're here to support you and encourage you to let us know if you need any adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process. Please feel free to contact us at resourcingteam@rspca.org.uk or 0300 123 0685 so we can ensure the process works for you.
